I love what I do and that is to help people manage their finances and achieve their goals.

Every day is exciting as we face new challenges both personally and professionally and the thrill of trying to solve them in the best possible way is what makes me come back each day!

Meeting new people and listening to their stories is what exhilarates me so feel free to engage with us and see if we can assist you to reach your goals, whatever they may be!

When I am not working, I am with my partner, Nicole and our four teenage sons. Following them in their sporting endeavours and walking our Groodle, Kodi, seems to fill most of my time outside of the office.

Georgie Phillips

Director

Georgie’s career in the Financial Planning industry began in the late 1990’s and has seen her move up through ranks from Paraplanner, Adviser, obtaining her CFP before starting her own business on her return to Albury in 2008.

Helping people with their financial goals has always been front and centre with Georgie and a short stint away from the industry made her realise that this is the industry that she loves and is passionate about.

This then resulted in her joining forces with Simon and the subsequent purchase of Armstrongs Financial Advisers was inevitable.

Married to Adam with two young children, Archie and Ruby, Georgie has a love of cooking, singing and travelling.

Greg Murdoch

Dip FS(FP)

Greg joined Armstrongs as an adviser in August 2014 following a career as a financial planner for the National Australia Bank.

Greg is married to Sheryl and is a member of a local Apex Club. In his spare time Greg enjoys riding his motorbike and fishing.

Meet RJ – Our Skilled and Charismatic Client Services Administrator

Ronald J Amaquin, or simply RJ, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Operations Management from the Cebu Institute of Technology. Since joining Armstrongs in May 2024 as our Client Services Administrator, RJ has quickly become a vital member of the team. Known for his exceptional client support, strong relationship-building skills, and a great sense of humor, he brings a positive and enjoyable atmosphere to every interaction.

Outside of work, RJ is an enthusiastic basketball player. He also shares a love of technology with his young daughter, and they bond over gaming and watching fascinating documentaries together.

Meet Cara – a valued Client Service Administrator

Chariss fondly known as Cara, joined our team in early April 2024. With a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing Management, and 6 years of experience as a Customer Service Representative, Cara brings a strong foundation in client services

Cara is already proving to be a valued Client Services Administrator, quickly becoming an essential member of our team with her dedication and focused approach.

Outside of work, Cara enjoys traveling and exploring the beautiful beaches of the Philippines. She is also actively involved in her church, reflecting her deep sense of community and connection. We are excited to have Cara on board and look forward to her continued contributions.

Justine Palubon

Meet Justine – Our Versatile and Experienced Team Member

Justine brings a diverse and dynamic background to our team, with a degree in Materials Science and Engineering Technology from Manila. Her career began in financial services, where she honed her skills as a Client Services Manager, building a strong foundation in client relations and financial management. Since joining Armstrongs in August 2023, Justine has excelled in Paraplanning, providing essential support to Georgie and enhancing her expertise in this specialised field.

Outside of her role with us, Justine channels her creativity into her own rebranding business. She’s passionate about designing custom labels and formulating unique products, showcasing her flair for innovation and attention to detail.

Hayley Groch

CA, Registered Tax Agent

Hayley takes on the role of Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSF) Administrator and Tax Agent for GHS Super Solutions. Hayley’s expertise over the last 10 years has been nurturing SMSF trustee’s administration requirements, tax and compliance obligations.

Hayley loves swimming, travelling and walking her Siberian Husky, “Basil.” Hayley is married to David with 2 energetic boys, Eric and Russell.

Sharon Gillion

Practice Administrator

Sharon Gillion, has been a part of Armstrongs since April 2021, serving as our Receptionist and Practice Administrator.

Sharon brings a wealth of experience in accounts and administration, having worked across various industries, including logistics and hospitality, in both the UK and Australia.

Outside of work, Sharon has a passion for gardening and is currently renovating a classic 1950s cottage in Tallangatta with her husband. Her weekends are filled with family time, as their home is often bustling with the laughter of their grandchildren. Sharon’s friendly demeanor and diverse skills make her a valued member of our team, contributing greatly to the smooth running of our practice.

Deziree Ybanez

Meet Dezie – A Dedicated and Multifaceted Team Member

Deziree Ybanez, affectionately known as Dezie, brings a diverse background to our team. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she initially built her career as an Executive Assistant in a US-based real estate brokerage. Driven to broaden her expertise, Dezie transitioned into the financial services industry, joining Armstrongs in June 2024. She now works closely with Simon, providing invaluable administrative support.

Outside of work, Dezie is an avid traveler and passionate photographer. She is also a dedicated advocate for children’s rights, actively supporting initiatives that make a positive impact.

Sheena Evans

Client Service Manager

Sheena Joined the team in January as a Client Service Manager.
Sheena has previously worked in the farming industry assisting in soil biology regeneration, she worked at CBA Bank for several years and has run her own business as a beauty consultant as well as being a full time, Mum.

Outside of work Sheena keeps busy at her farm with her husband Dan and two children.

Heather Monaco

Client Service Manager

Heather joined the team in August as Senior Client Services Manager.

Heather has been in administrative roles throughout her career including in the transport industry and the Financial Services Sector. Heather also worked in the Department of Justice where she managed the administration teams across the Southeast and Gippsland regions.

Heather moved to Wodonga around 5 years ago and decided to move back into the Financial Services Sector. Most recently she was seeking a role within a smaller team and we were fortunate that we are the team she has chosen.

Outside of work Heather enjoys gardening focusing on edible medicinal and other beneficial plants.
